I’d reached that sticky point in my business where I’d been plugging away steadily at all the obvious preparatory activities: investing heavily in my technical development, accumulating high spec equipment and building a network of like-minded business people to chew the cud with.
But I was aware that I was avoiding doing essential tasks and most importantly that my mind-set was preventing me from taking the necessary leap forward, in order to take my photography from a ‘paying hobby’ to a serious business.
And then I started working with Tamsen.
We worked through the cloud of overwhelm that was hanging over me and identified the critical factors that were holding me back.
Tamsen encouraged me to hold myself accountable to her, and within a couple of weeks I had completed the one task that had sabotaged my productivity for months – a fully developed client management workflow.
Having systemised my client work, we were then able to explore opportunities for growth, identify the actions required to achieve them and plan when I would do them.
For the first time, I am able to see a clear path ahead for my business because my activity is now focused and as a result, my business is truly snowballing; I recently won a sizeable photography contract, have developed a new product for an entirely new market, and brought on a business partner!
What do I love about Tamsen’s approach?
Her genuine belief in my ability to succeed combined with a steely determination to hold me to account for my own progress; her focus on developing the business in a planned and strategic way, tempered with a recognition and encouragement of my right-brained, intuitive tendencies, and her humour and humanity.
For the first time, I have a genuine confidence that ‘I can do this’, which is a refreshing and exciting evolution from my earlier focus on ‘faking it till I make it’.
There’s so much more to a coach and mentor than qualifications; Tamsen combines a calm and philosophical approach to difficult business issues, she cuts through the bull, eases away fears and importantly – she makes sure that we get things done.
‘WWTD’ is now one of my most used mantras – ‘What Would Tamsen Do?’
If you know you could be achieving more in your business but lack the knowledge or courage to make the leap, I strongly urge you to call Tamsen. I personally couldn’t have asked for more.
